Off The Record is a local family-owned record store whose primary purpose is to provide high quality new and used recorded music to you, the customer. The owners, Twilla and Gary Pruitt believe the store belongs to the community. That community consists of you, the customer, the local music artists, the local music venues, our suppliers, our knowledgeable and friendly staff, the recording artists you most want to hear, and lastly, someone to manage and merge all the common interests where music is concerned. To us, the music really matters and everything we do is in support of that belief.  We grew up here, raised families here, and have a vested interest in the community. We hope you will visit our store and make it your own.

Twilla was born here in Yakima and attended Eisenhower High School. She raised two daughters here and her granddaughter works at the store. She manages the day-to-day operation of the store. She spends long hours, seven days per week making sure that everything is the best it can be for you, the customer. Her passion is just that, providing you with the music you want at a reasonable price. Her interests are friends, family and all animals, especially neglected ones.

Gary was born in Denison, Texas. His family moved here in the early sixties. He attended Selah High School. He raised two sons here, one of whom worked at the store for sevceral years. He manages the finances and the systems and structure of the store. His passion is the vinyl record and the equipment that produces true analog sound. His interests are positive interactions with all people, playing music and big game fishing.

Twilla and Gary Pruitt are the owners. They purchased the store in 2014 from Rich Koch who operated the store for twenty-nine years here in Yakima. Rich leaves a legacy of providing a place where the music matters. Twilla and Gary, with the help of the music community are determined to carry on that legacy. The independent record store lives on and with your help will be here for future generations.
